EGREG’s Early Deployments (2009–2017)

Before its full development in 2017, EGREG underwent several pilot and operational deployments across the MENA region, supporting diverse EU-funded programmes focused on innovation, youth mobility, and research. These formative experiences shaped EGREG’s modular architecture and stakeholder-centered workflows.

🇯🇴 Jordan: SRTD Phase II (2013–2017)
  • EGREG supported the Support to Research, Technological Development and Innovation Project (SRTD II).
  • Focus: Innovation & Science, Applied Research, and Commercialisation of Research Results.
  • Role: Managing multiple grant schemes and facilitating collaboration between academia, industry, and government.
    🌐 EuroMed Youth Programme IV (2010–2016)
    • EGREG was deployed during the implementation of the Regional Capacity Building Support Unit for EuroMed Youth IV, the predecessor of the Erasmus+ programme.
    • Scope: Youth mobility across 5 ENPI South countries, including Cyprus (until 2010).
    • Origin: Rooted in the Barcelona Process, fostering intercultural exchange and civic engagement.
    • Role: Supporting mobility workflows, stakeholder coordination, and reporting.
    🇪🇬 Egypt: Innovation Fund Grant Scheme (2009–2011)
    • EGREG supported the EU-funded Innovation Fund, managing 51 grants under the national Grant Scheme.
    • Focus: Applied innovation and entrepreneurship.
    • Role: Grant project management and monitoring.
